Falls Prevention Program

The Falls Prevention Program is a six to eight week program focusing on identifying a client’s risk for falls.  This program is lead by a physical and occupational therapist who are certified Multiple Sclerosis specialists that have extensive experience in treating clients with a variety of neurological impairments.  

The following interventions may be performed:  

  • Formalized functional and sensory motor assessments
  • Individualized home exercise program focusing on strength, balance and endurance
  • Instruction in safety strategies in the home and in the community
  • Energy management
  • Home safety checklist
  • Recommendations for equipment, technology and mobility aids
  • Skill development in recovering from a fall

The Falls Prevention Program is a six to eight week program focusing on identifying a client’s risk for falls, as part of an overall balance program. This program is lead by a physical and an occupational therapist who are certified Multiple Sclerosis Specialists and have extensive experience in treating clients’ with a variety of neurological impairments.  Physician’s order is required.

Becoming a Patient

Our hospital provides care for those who are ready to be discharged from a hospital but not ready to return home. Treatment and care is designed to bridge the gap between hospital and home. Anyone who is limited functionally from an injury or illness can benefit from rehabilitation.
